Vestibular Rehabilitation is a category of physical therapy with the primary goal being to reduce or eliminate complaints of dizziness or imbalance in our patients. It's estimated that 90 million Americans will experience dizziness at least once in their lifetime. Dizziness is the number one reason for visiting a physician for patients over 75 years old. Symptoms of a vestibular problem can include spinning, blurred vision, wooziness, nausea, and feelings of imbalance or falling. Studies have shown that vestibular rehabilitation is very effective in treating peripheral balance dysfunction by facilitating compensation with the central nervous system.
At Avante Physical Therapy, we have a team of qualified physical therapists who are experienced in treating peripheral and central vestibular dysfunctions. We offer a thorough evaluation and perform specific vestibular maneuvers and retraining exercises to help our patients recover from this incapacitating condition. Our goal is to help our clients regain confidence in their mobility, and return to their active lifestyles without symptoms.
