Avante Physical Therapy specializes in one-on-one care primarily utilizing manual therapy for most of our patients. Manual therapy is a form of physical therapy, which entails extensive post-graduate education and training. Manual therapy includes, but is not limited to:
- Joint Mobilization - a direct mobilization/movement technique, performed by the Physical Therapist, to the affected and symptomatic joint.
- Manipulation - a quick, small, relatively pain-free motion performed by a Physical Therapist to the symptomatic joint to restore normal motion.
- Soft Tissue Mobilization - specialized mobilization techniques performed by the Physical Therapist to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and capsules to eliminate spasm, trigger points, adhesions (scar tissue) resulting in restored normal tissue length.
- Neurodynamics (Neural Mobilization) - specialized mobilization techniques to restore normal gliding and flexibility of potentially irritable nerve tissue.
Our overall goals for using Manual Therapy are pain reduction, restoration of normal function by increasing mobility and range of motion, and improving strength, stability and flexibility.
Our extensively trained therapists provide comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluations that enable them to utilize the most effective manual therapy approach for their patients. All of our therapists are trained in identifying the patient's pathological structures and formulating a treatment diagnosis. Our therapists then create a unique, individual and effective manual and rehabilitative program to meet the patient's specific needs.
A common, frequently posed question by many potential patients is: "What sets us apart from other Physical Therapy Clinics?".
Our response is :
- One-on-one care.
- Treatment/therapy performed only by Physical Therapists (no assistants).
- All our therapists receive mandatory post-graduate training in manual therapy, and hold advanced training certificates, such as Maitland and McKenzie.
- Individualized treatment programs (no protocols, unless specifically indicated by your referring physician).
- All visits scheduled with the same therapist (depending on appointment availability).
What patients say about Avante Physical Therapy:
At 66, I have had many experiences with Physical Therapy in North Carolina and Colorado. It was only at Avante, however that I encountered a comprehensive approach to Physical Therapy. I have been treated by several therapists at Avante over the years and found each to be as professional and highly skilled as the next. The Physical Therapists at Avante treat the source of your problem, not just the symptoms. It's more than heat packs and massages. Avante's philosophy is based on an interactive understanding of how the body works and what is necessary to keeping it mobile and healthy. Because of my own degenerative orthopedic issues, I continue treatment at Avante where my quality of life is supported with professionalism and compassion. -JB-
As one who comes from a company that has received J.D. Powers #1 in customer service for insurance companies in America who operate through independent agents, I can spot and appreciate good service when I encounter it ---and Avante has it in spades! I shared with my therapist at my last visit that satisfaction is built from the front desk, thru to the therapist and the support staff. This consistency attracts, satisfies and keeps patients and greatly assists in the sense of improvement and confidence we patients feel in the value of the treatment. I'm glad I was steered in your direction. It has made all the difference in my progress. Many thanks! -Ron Brown - Erie Insurance Group/Raleigh Branch-
